Faculty of Law, University of Medan Area (FH-UMA) in collaboration with MUI SUMUT (North Sumatra Indonesian Ulema Council) held a series of Online Legal Discussion (Webinar) with the theme “Child Protection During Covid-19 Pandemic Disaster” Sunday, May 17, 2020. Discussion The law was held with Cloud X Telkomsel facilitated by the UMA Faculty of Law. This activity can also be accessed by Live HD Streaming on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram of the North Sumatra MUI. The legal discussion activity was opened directly by the Chair of the North Sumatra MUI Law Commission Dr. Ramlan Yusuf Rangkuti, MA in his remarks hoped that the holding of this legal discussion could be useful.
The speakers at this event were very credible in talking about legal protection for children, namely:
- Mr. Prof. Dr. H. Hasim Purba, SH, M.Hum who is a professor in the Law Faculty of the University of North Sumatra (USU) and also as a renowned law expert in Medan.
- Dr. H. Abdul Hakim Siagian, SH, M.Hum who is the Director of LADUI MUI of North Sumatra and also who works as an Advocate.
- Dr. Aulia Rosa Nasution, SH, MH who is a permanent academic lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Medan Area.
Participants who participated in the Child Protection Law discussion during the Pandemik Covid-19 Disaster were very enthusiastic, full of enthusiasm and orderly in following the process of online legal discussion.

Participants who attended the legal discussion consisted of Lecturers, UMA Faculty of Law Students and general participants consisting of lecturers, students from various Universities in Indonesia and also various government and private agencies.
Legal discussion on the theme of Child Protection during Pandemics Covid-19 discusses how to protect children from child law and human rights like the current pandemic. As we all know, children are a vulnerable group or what is called a group froeble, especially like the atmosphere of a pandemic condition.
